Do I have to connect my bank account?
No — and today you can't. You add expenses by typing them, scanning a receipt, or importing a statement. Optional, read-only bank sync is planned for the future, and manual tracking will always be fully supported.
How does automatic categorization work?
When you enter an expense, its description (just the text, e.g. "Pizza at Domino's") is sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which suggests a category. If that's ever unavailable, Tesoro falls back to simple keyword matching on-server. You can always change the category yourself.
Is my financial data private?
Yes. No ads, no trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs, and your data is never sold. The Privacy Policy lists every service provider we use and exactly what each one receives.
How do I delete my account and data?
Directly in the App, under Settings. Deletion is immediate and removes your expenses, categories, sessions, and device tokens — no email or support ticket required.
Is Tesoro free?
Yes — Tesoro is free, with no paid subscription at this time. If a paid tier is introduced later (for example, alongside bank sync), it will be clearly disclosed in the App and in the Terms.
